e-Commerce Fraud & Countermeasures
The e-commerce landscape in Ghana has seen significant growth over the past year in view of the conscious effort to reduce physical contact in undertaking trade and business transactions in the period of the Covid-19 pandemic. This has resulted in an increase in the number of technology companies, products, services as well as patronage by consumers, especially within the retail and service industry. Industry analysis and investigations have revealed an increase in reports of false identity, fake/stolen credit cards, data breaches, phishing schemes, fake e-commerce platforms, mobile device compromises, among others. This course is designed to provide a learning environment to expose industry players to new and emerging fraud trends that put the e-commerce potential of Ghana at risk as well as providing practical measures to protect investments in these technology platforms.
